Simple but delicious – Prawn Pasta
One of our favourite pastas is linguine and when you combine it with ripe roasted tomatoes, fresh prawns, a pinch or two of chilli flakes and garlic on cold winters night at home or when you need to impress with your coulinary skills – it hits the spot.
So here’s the recipe. All you need to make life better at this point is a glass of your favourite tipple – one of our favourites with this is – Primo Estate D’Elena Pinot Grigio.
This recipe makes two generous serves.
I’ve been having a bit of a love affair with the Christos’ for several years now. Great pasta, pizzas and cocktails are not only what you get there, but also the “Cheers’ moment”. There aren’t so many restaurants in Sydney where you feel 100% at home, as waiters and waitresses, even owners, keep changing in the Sydney’s cut-throat restaurant scene. Only after a few visits to this iconic Paddington restaurant, you know everyone there and have one more home to go back to! Continue reading »

As someone who is both lazy and totally in love with food, you never have to convince me to order delivery. If you are not yet convinced, take a look at the following reasons to order delivery.
1. Everyone needs a no-pants day.
Don’t even try to deny it – sometimes you don’t feel like wearing pants. At the very least, you’ve got that grungy pair of sweat pants that feel oh-so-good but are completely unacceptable for public appearances. Everyone deserves to enjoy a scrub day every once in awhile. Of course, you’ll still need to feed yourself somehow. So while you enjoy the comfort of sweat pants or complete lack of pants, order some delivery and embrace the comfort. Continue reading »
On the night we went to Out of Africa restaurant in Manly, with a small group of friends for dinner, it felt anything but Africa. The rain was pouring and Sydney looked more like the rainy season in Bali. But on entering the restaurant with its warm colour and terracotta flooring, we were instantly transported to somewhere Out of Africa. There were wonderful African/Moroccan printed cushions on the chairs and Moroccan hanging lamps also a large photo on the wall of child and father that could easily be the owner. The place was relaxed and everyone was very comfortable so we were looking forward to our night of good food, good wine and lots of laughter and gossip. Continue reading »
In 1989, while King Umberto and Queen Margherita visited the city of Naples, Italy, the famous Pizzaaiolo (pizza chef), Raffaele Esposito was known to prepare and make the first ever delivery for them. When the Queen expressed her desire to taste “pizza pie”, Rafaelle personally created the pizza with the colors of the Italian flag: green basil, red tomatoes, and white mozzarella cheese in honor of her. Soon, this became the basis of American Neapolitan pizza.
Pizza delivery was launched after World War II, when American soldiers returning from Italy brought pizza, introducing the delicious European dish to many Americans. Since pizzas could easily be carried in paper boxes, they were great for delivery; After World War II, they became more accessible to Americans thanks to the rise of the automobile industry.
